Woking v Barnet – Betting Preview

By Jacob Greenwood

First take on third at Kingfield today as league leaders Barnet take on Woking.

Following relegation from the Football League two seasons ago, The Bees are looking for promotion and have made an impressive start to the 2014/15 season and come into the game with Woking eight points ahead of second placed Grimsby.

Barnet (7/5 @ BetVictor) have only lost once on the road so far this season and come into the game favourites to take the three points. The sides played out a 0-0 draw at Kingfield last season and for the scores to be level again is an outside bet (13/5 @ Betfair).

The Cards (to win 2/1 @ 888sport) have struggled for form at home this season but with a hard earned point against Wrexham and after an impressive 3-1 win at The Shay last Sunday, the home side have reason to be positive that they can take all three points.

Barnet striker John Akinde (9/2 FGS @ Bet365), who had a brief trial at Woking at the start of last pre-season, is currently The Conference top goalscorer with 15 goals so far this season and is the favourite to score first. However, Woking have the second top goalscorer in the league in Scott Rendell (5/1 @ Bet365) and after scoring two goals against The Bees last season, the striker will fancy his chances of getting on the scoresheet today.

Adam Newton grabbed a brace last weekend against Halifax and is a huge price to grab the first goal today (25/1 @ Bet365) and is still a fair shout to score anytime (9/1 @ Bet365).

Barnet have scored 10 goals in their past four league games and with Woking netting three last time out, the both teams to score markets and over 2.3 are worth a look at –

Both teams to score: 13/20 @BetVictor

Both teams to score and Woking to win: 9/2 @ Coral

Both teams to score an Barnet to win: 7/2 @ SkyBet

Over 2/5 goals: 5/6 @ SkyBet

Everything Woking FC predicts: Woking have been out of sorts at home this season but I think the big occasion could bring the best out of them. I hope Sole can get a start after his recent scoring form and my money will be on – Sole to score anytime @ 2/1 @ Bet365.

Look Black ‘n’ Amber’s Lucy Waldon predicts: Although I think Woking will score first I think Barnet will turn it around in the second half and win 2-1 (9/1 @BetVictor)
