The Low-Down On Jimmy Keohane

Jimmy Keohane picked up a goal on his Woking début on Monday following his release from Exeter City.

The 24-year-old attacking midfielder came on as a substitution vs Welling United and scored the second goal in a 2-0 victory.

We talked to Exeter City fan Kieran Hutchins to find out what we can expect from the former Ireland U19 international.

Jimmy Keohane spent four years at Exeter City. How would you sum his time up at the club and were you sad to seem him leave?

He wasn’t given enough of a chance in the starting line up in my opinion. I personally would have kept him here at ECFC. He had much more to offer if he was given the chance.

Are you surprised he couldn’t find a Football League club following his departure from City and if so, why?

I am very surprised he didn’t get himself another Football League club. He’s got all the attributes needed, and is only a youngster, so he will get better. I fully expect him to be back in the Football League before too long.

What can Woking expect from him in terms of position and paying style?

Woking can expect an attacking midfielder, who likes to run at people, take them on and have a shot at goal if the opportunity is there. He’ll play best just behind the strikers, and given a run of games in the National League, I expect him to score goals.
