Woking go in search of their first league win in over a month when high-flying Bristol Rovers visit Kingfield on Saturday.

Rovers are in impressive form and find themselves six points behind league leaders. The Gas haven’t recorded a league defeat since a narrow defeat to Forest Green Rovers in mid-October.

Garry Hill will be hoping the loan signing of Luton Town striker Ross Lafayette will shake-up his side and contribute to an improved performance following a poor run of form in December and early January.

We talked to Bristol Rovers fan Dave Wilcox to find out what has been happening at the The Memorial Stadium.

After a bad start, Rovers are on a great run of form and look to have settled well, with automatic promotion not out of the picture yet. Do you still believe you can catch Barnet?

Everyone at the club thinks we can catch them, we’ve put together a fantastic run which, is credit to the management, players and the supporters. It’ll be interesting to see if they can keep hold of Akinde and Allen. If one or both go I think we’ll catch them.

Jermaine Easter signed for the club on Monday. That is a pretty serious show of intent, isn’t it?

We’ve seen this sort of signing before so a few people are a bit pensive about it, that said in interviews Easter has said all the right things. He’s an experienced campaigner with a great track record but we shouldn’t overlook the performances Matt Taylor & Nathan Blissett have put in over the last couple of weeks. He’s a good addition on paper and I hope he hits the ground running but we’re more than just one big signing.

You are out of the FA Trophy so have had a week off, where as Woking have played two games. Do you think this will benefit you, having more rest in the second half of the season?

Our last two promotions have included cup runs (Third Division Champions & Leyland Daff Runners-up 89-90 & League 2 Playoff Winners & JPT Runners-up 06-07) so I don’t really buy into the better out of the cup thing. That said I don’t think our early trophy exit will hamper us. Hopefully less suspensions & injuries I suppose but in my opinion success breeds success.

Who will Woking have to look out for on Saturday?

Stuart Sinclair has become a real hit this season, probably the fittest player I’ve ever seen at any level of football. He’s good on the ball, hard in the tackle and excels in the last 20. He’s also got a massive beard and long hair which, adds to the image he has of being totally barking mad.

What do you think the final score will be?

I think Rovers pushed on by well over 1,000 supporters will get the three points, we were hard pushed by you at our place but with your dip in form and our confidence I think we’ll come away with a 2-0 win.
