Woking Hunt New Majority Shareholder

By Jacob Greenwood

As first reported by Cardinals1887 on June 17th Woking Football Club are hunting a new majority shareholder. The current majority shareholder, Drew Volpe, is selling approximately an 85% share in the club.

As exclusively revealed by Cardinals1887, Oakwell Sports Advisory are overseeing the sale and meetings had already taken place by the time we reported the news in mid-June.

A post on the fans’ forum Cardsboard by Volpe stated he believed there were ‘inaccuracies and omissions’ in our initial report. As a result, our article was taken down to allow the club to release an official update.

Since then, interviews have been given to BBC Surrey/BBC Sport and Woking News & Mail confirming what was first reported on Cardinals1887 as well as further details about an additional cash injection to save the club from administration.

Despite tough circumstances, we are glad supporters have been given updates on the current situation and look forward to hearing updates on the sale of the club.
